Don’t ever underestimate what you can do digital in this digital age. Phones? Of course. Music? Absolutely. Picture frames? No way? You are wrong. Today, there are digital photo frames, and they are not as pretentious or useless and you might think. Digital photo frames may just be the perfect gadget for sharing numerous photos without taking up a whole bunch of room on your mantel, counter or desk. Digital photo frames are in about the same sizes and shapes as regular picture frames. They contain an LCD, liquid crystal display screen, which shows a slideshow of multiple photos. They normally connect to the World Wide Web through a telephone line in order to download new pictures and information for display. Digital photo frames are made by many popular companies, including Polaroid, Kodak and Ceiva. The frames are fairly similar in construction, though they do offer some different features. It probably seems that these digital photo frames would be complicated, but the frame is actually a very simple computer. Ultimately, they have similar components as your desktop computer, but simplified since digital photo frames only have one task to perform. What’s a CPU? A CPU is the central processing unit. In the Ceiva digital photo frames, it is comparable to the CPU used in small, electronic handheld games. Downloading pictures from the Web is most complicated task performed by this CPU. What Kind of Memory is in a Digital Photo Frame?
Digital photo frames have some ROM memory to store the operating system. They also contain some Flash memory. This is where the settings, pictures and some of the operating software are contained. What About the Display?
The digital photo frame display is a 640x480-pixel, passive-matrix LCD with a viewing area of about 5” by 7”. This kind of display is slim enough that digital photo frames are not much thicker than regular picture frames. The pictures are generally displayed in 12-bit color, which translates to about 4,100 different colors that can be presented on the screen. How are Digital Photo Frames Controlled?
Amazingly, the only user-operated controls on digital photo frames are two buttons. One black button to adjust the brightness of the display, and one white button that turns on the digital photo frame when the user first plugs it in. The white button can also be used to manually dial in. Tags: jinsf5128

To me, scales were one of the things that were obviously going to go digital. Since weight is one of the things that we desire to be as exact as possible. That is why I decide to buy a digital kitchen scale. I have recently gotten more into baking, and a lot of baking has to do with chemistry. Some say the wheel. Others say sliced bread. As for me, I think the greatest invention mankind has ever created is the digital video recorder, or as you may call it, a DVR. My guess is you probably already know and love your own digital video recorder. I do not blame you. After all, being able to record your favorite shows and then watch them on your schedule as opposed to the network’s schedule is reason alone to own a digital video recorder. Being able to fast-forward through the commercials is pretty cool too. I cannot tell you how many times my digital video recorder has saved my sanity based on that ability alone. It really is amazing how much quicker it is to watch a show when you do not have to deal with commercials. But where my digital video recorder has really proved its mettle is in sports. I am a big sports fan and watch quite a bit of it. The problem I have found is that as my life has gotten busier, my time has gotten more restricted. The fact is, I rarely have time to sit down and watch a complete football game, hockey game or NASCAR race. My digital video recorder has allowed me to fast-forward through the pre-race or pre-game activities and get right to the good stuff. More than that, the digital video recorder allows me to move ahead if things are going to slow or if the game is not quite going the way I want. Call me a fair-weather fan if you want, I bet you do the same thing with your digital video recorder. Another reason I like the digital video recorder is because the thing automatically records my favorite shows. How many of us remember having to set up a recording on our VCRs? Remember how hard it was to keep track of what was on which tape? How many times did you record over something? The digital video recorder has made such nuisances a thing of the past. If you do not own a digital video recorder, you do not know what you are missing. Or maybe, now that you have read this article, you do. If you are thinking that a digital video recorder is something you cannot live without, call your cable or satellite TV provider and ask them how much it costs to upgrade. They will be able to tell you how much a digital video recorder costs to rent and how much it costs to subscribe to the package. If you do not want to deal with renting a box, visit your electronics store and look at Tivo®. They are the guys that pretty much started the digital video recorder revolution. You should be able to find a pretty good deal.

Digital, digital, digital, I love all things digital. Analog? It’s stupid. Probably the only people who think analog is cool were born before 1856. Nope, for me if it isn’t digital it isn’t worth owning. How digital am I? Hmm, let me think- VERY! Pretty much everything I own is digital. The only things that are not are my clothes, shoes, bedding, dresser, food, plants, furniture and toiletries. My car? It’s digital. Don’t you know computers run cars now? And the instrument panel displays everything in digital readouts. I switched the displays to metric too, metric just sounds more digital than regular. Plus it looks like I’m going faster. My toothbrush? Yep, digital. Well, the brush itself isn’t, but the readout is digital, and it is controlled by digital things inside. My teeth are so white, it hurts to look at them. Plus, because it’s digital, it really gets all the gunk that builds up in my braces. Chicks hate gunk. I should know. I said my furniture is analog, but I kind of lied. Pretty much the only thing I sit on is my mega-awesome game chair, and yeah it’s digital. It’s got these super-sweet digital speakers in the headrest and a subwoofer built into it, so it like shakes and stuff when you’re playing games. Let’s see an analog chair do that! I only play first-person shooter games if you’re wondering. Let’s see, what else do I own that is digital? PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING! My iPod Touch kicks digital butt, and my computer is probably the most amazing testament to digital awesomeness ever created. If you even know how to use the Internet, look up the most expensive graphics and sound card you can find. I own two of each. My computer can pretty much blow your mind it’s so awesome. You can’t even comprehend how much digital stuff is in the thing. I dare you to try. Of course my Wii, Xbox and PS3 are digital. Sometimes I play all three at the same time. I bet you can’t do that. The digital graphics these things have isn’t as good as my computer, but they’re good enough to kick digital butt when I game online. Seriously, if I didn’t have to eat, go to the bathroom, sleep or go to work, I’d play video games all the time. I wish I was digital. Life would be so much cooler. If I was digital I’d be all like, “1100101.” I just spoke in binary code. Seriously, we should all speak binary, then we’d have no language issues. A digital me would be like 6’10” and ripped. A digital me would get all the chicas. Man, I so should have been born like 500 years from now. Think of how mega digital things will be then. I bet I’d be digital. Totally like the Matrix.

I don’t care what I am buying – clothes, electronics, furniture – I always read the reviews if they are available. I think the best way to gauge if a product is worth buying is by hearing what previous buyers have said about the product. And today in the Internet age, it is easier than ever to read customer reviews. It is also so easy to read reviews from all different types of magazines and web sites that specialize in the product of interest. So always check it out especially for products like digital cameras, which will have numerous reviews on near countless sites. Digital camera reviews will definitely help you determine if the digital camera you have your eye on is the one for you. When I was interested in buying a camera, you better believe that I read so many digital camera reviews of the models that I was interested in. And it really helped me decide on the one I was going to buy. I decided on a Nikon Coolpix L14 digital camera, and it is perfect for me! It is my first digital camera, and I have had it for about six months. Here are some of the digital camera reviews that I read about it that convinced me that this was the right choice for me. Nikon Coolpix L14 Digital Camera Reviews “Really like the features and function of the camera. Know we will use it a lot. Wish it had come with a case and with a storage card – though it does store SOME pics on the camera itself – I bought it for Christmas and realized afterward that I needed a card. But other than that, a great buy, terrific price.” Dallas, Texas After reading this digital camera review, I searched online for a carrying case, storage card and rechargable batteries, and found a great deal on a set that Nikon sells! “I use this camera everyday..even though i just got mine a few days ago....im still on the same batteries that i recieved with it...and believe me..i take a bunch of pictures...the quality of the pictures is wonderful...” Oshkosh, Wisconsin “This is my first digital camera, and I was surprised at how user friendly it is to use. I never thought I would be able to operate something so technical but I am totally amazed! I have become a photo nut taking pictures of everything and anything. Thanks, Nikon. I have now arrived in the 21st century!” Waukegan, Illinois Digital Camera Reviews Provide Peace of Mind When it came time for me to buy a camera, these digital camera reviews really did give me a sense comfort in making my purchase. Sure, no purchase is foolproof, but hearing what others have to say will provide peace of mind. So read digital camera reviews before buying.

If you are still the person who takes photographs with a 35mm camera and takes the roll of film into your local pharmacy or superstore to get developed, it’s time for you to join the 21st century and purchase a digital camera. Sure, it may seem expensive at first, but think about how much money you have and will spend on film in your life. And besides for that, you have no idea yet the doors that will open when you have your own digital camera. When you take photographs with a digital camera, you have the ability to edit them from home. What does that mean? It means you can change them from color to black and white or sepia photos. You can put a bunch of photos into a collage. You can take away the dreaded red-eye effect from your loved ones in the photograph. You can make a blue sky bluer and the green grass greener. We all have old pictures that have been sitting in the sun too long or have been torn. In some cases, they might be old pictures of relatives that you don’t see anymore or maybe it’s the only picture you have of someone. In any of these cases, you need some photo restoration to get the picture you really want. If you only have a few pictures of a certain relative, then there is no need for those select pictures to be of poor quality, especially when there is technology that allows for easy photo restoration. There are many photo shops where you can perform photo restoration through some standard steps and you can also repair your photos in a multitude of ways with Photoshop. As long as you have a scanner, you can import your old pictures into Photoshop and start the photo restoration process. Improving color, putting torn pieces together, and improving contrast are all things you can do in the photo restoration process with Photoshop. The digital age has afforded us the luxury of not having to settle for the old, faded, torn, wrinkled and discolored photos that we wish could be better. Now, they can be better in a lot less time than you might think. What follows is a photo restoration tutorial from Photoshop’s web site for fixing an old photograph that was ripped into two pieces and had been faded to a purple color. Take a look at these photo restoration techniques and apply them to your own pictures: Step 1: Make sure that the document table of the scanner and obverse surface of the photo are pure (has no specks of dust, hairs, etc.). If necessary, wipe the surfaces with a pure dry serviette. Step 2: Lift the lid on the scanner, dispose parts of a photo as possible nearer to each other and close the lid. If you have a lot of parts and they are small enough it is more convenient to glue them before on a sheet of paper (assemble parts as puzzle). Step 3: Scan photo in resolution at least 300 dpi, save it as JPEG. Step 4: Using the "Lasso Tool" select parts of a photo and turn them in relation to each other so that, as a whole, the photo has taken a normal form. Step 5: Again select parts of photo and using the "Moving Tool" and move them as possible, nearer to each other. Step 6: Make the photo black-and-white. For that select Image/Adjustments/Black and White, select the needed Preset. For our photo it is "Yellow Filter" (for your photo other Presets can give a better result, experiment with it). Now we can make advanced adjustments. Because our photo is filled by magenta color we shall adjust channel Magenta until getting the best result. Press OK. Step 7: Using the "Clone Stamp Tool," "Healing Brush Tool," "Spot Healing Brush Tool," carefully and accurately repair places of break. Step 8: Use the Filter/Noise/Reduce Noise and Filter/Noise/Dust and Scratches filters for the removal of noise and minor scratches. Attention: Do not set the Preserve Details parameter for the Reduce Noise filter too little and do not set the Radius parameter for the Dust and Scratches filter too large, or else the photo will become blurred. Step 9: Using the "Clone Stamp Tool," "Healing Brush Tool," "Spot Healing Brush Tool" remove other scratches and spots (and other damages). Step 10: Adjust brightness and contrast of a photo in the menu Image/Adjustments/Brightness and Contrast. Photo is ready. At this point, the photo restoration process is complete, and your photo should look markedly different and improved. This process shouldn’t take that long, and you will have a whole picture with proper color thanks to photo restoration.
